Someone once said that necessity is the mother of invention. At UZU Moto, we don’t necessarily think that’s true. We didn’t need to create exhaust components and other parts. 

We wanted to. 

The brainchild of our founder, Caleb, UZU was created more through a desire to build cool motorcycle parts that suited us and our wild tastes in motorcycle mods than for any particular need. Caleb struck first with the desire to build an exhaust slip-on for his Kawasaki Z-650. He completed this task successfully, creating the piece in only a matter of weeks. 

One might think that this is a long time, but considering the challenges of having to work with other suppliers and manufacturers to get several components custom made, this was no small accomplishment. 

Yet, we decided that wasn’t good enough. We thought that there has to be a better way. We began to build a small shop where we could design, engineer, and build these parts one-hundred percent ourselves, skipping the long lead times, limited flexibility, and shipping challenges from existing vendors. 

This desire fueled Calebs second strike, which included the creation of more parts for his wild classic bike restorations: building small electrical components and even a complete wired and powder coated battery box. This put our efforts of creating our business into high gear. The fruits of that labor are now starting to come together. 

About a year and lots of couch cushion diving later, UZU Moto is now at the point where we are putting our creations into mass production. It has taken a little while, but we are well on our way. We will be releasing new parts and product lines over the coming months, with our biggest debut this year being exhaust components and custom parts for production motorcycles.

There is still work to be done. Creating cool stuff that our friends and other like-minded riders would want takes time and effort. But we are determined to grow our little shop into something big.
